NARRATIVE
Ant
and Cocoon
Once upon a time, there was a
very dense forest, an assortment of animals, such as from ants, elephants, tigers, rhinos, birds
and so on lived there. On
day there were very powerful storms. The
storm came at once and
made panic the animals of the forest. All animals got panic.
The next day, the sun come up warmly
the melodious sound of birds are chirping. Many trees in the forest were uprooted into a mess.
A cocoon was crying and grieving for what had happened in a fallen tree. "Hu .. hoo ... how
sad. The storm left us horrible thing but
nowhere was safe for shelter .. huhu .." lamented the sad cocoon.
From beneath of
the ground, there was an ant who arrogantly said, "Hi cocoon, look at me. I'm protected from the
storm yesterday, not like you. Look
at your body, you just stuck in a tree that fell and could not get shelter from
the storm" said the ant proudly.
The ant
became more arrogant and continued to say this to all the
animals in the forest. Then one day the ant was walking on the mud of life.
The ant do not know if he was walking on guide
mud it can swallow and pull something into the mud.
"Help me...
please. I got stuck in the mud.. please," cried the
ant. Then a voice from
above, "I think you are in
trouble aren’t you?" The ant looked arround to find the source of the voice. It
turned out that the sound was coming from a flying butterfly above the mud.
"Who are you?" asked the ant upset. "I was the
cocoon then you contemptible" said the butterfly. Ant felt ashamed and asked for
help to the butterfly out him
from the sucking mud. "Help me butterfly, I'm sorry I was so
arrogant at that time taking." The butterfly eventually helped the ant. The ant promised he would not
insult other creatures
in the forest anymore.
Well, the lessons that we can draw from the tale is, we
must love and respect all of God's creatures. Essentially all of God's
creatures should be loved and we should not insult other creatures.
